Maple Festival Magic

Thursday March 24, 2011

We'll readily admit that it wasn't easy--but it was worth it. Two, two-day weekends in a row is a lot of festivaling. Especially when one has to break-down and set-up each day. As first-timers, we didn't precisely calibrate the physical investment required. In retrospect, a rather beneficial misunder-estimation, in the way that ignorance can make certain endeavors, if not exactly blissful, then at the very least, bearable!

Suffice it to say, with the indomitable Brightside spirit our namesake songwriter Eric Idle himself would well approve, we persevered.

Despite gusty winds the first Saturday and chilly-damp the second Sunday, at the end of the festival, sales were right in line with our budget planning. Yea! Big sellers were tea blends Sweet Dreams, Cheer, and Sparkle My Spirit and 21-tea bag sets Evening Enchantment and Wise Woman.

Next up: Uniquely West Virginia Wine & Food in Berkeley Springs. A one-day, indoor venue on April 16.
