Brightside's December Adventures
December's astonishingly cold temperatures and persistent snows slowed, but did not stop us from participating in several fun and festive events around Pocahontas County.
Brightside began the month at the Christmas Craft Show at the Marlinton Opera House December 3rd & 4th, where we featured our full line of 17 herbal teas. Our new November-harvested sassafras root tea was the stand-out hit.
On the 9th, Dawn participated in the newly-named "Pocahontas County Farmer's Market" by-laws committee meeting at Tolly Peuleche's beautiful Hidden River Farm in Mace. That afternoon, she made tea with the kids in the after-school program at Marlinton Middle School.
The afternoon of the 17th found us at Cheryl's Beauty & Beyond in Marlinton, where we, along with several local artists, including potter and Pocahontas County Arts Council (PCAC) Secretary Cynthia Gurreri, displayed our creations. Brightside introduced Wildgrown Beauty, a new line of seasonal skin products, with Cheer, an herbal facial steam for winter skin, and Beauty Sleep, a lavender/chamomile facial and pillow mist.
We spent the 18th at the Christmas Open House at the Little Yellow House, the PCAC-sponsored pottery studio in Dunmore, where we served tea.
Our Herbal Teas and Beauty products will be available online in January, 2011.
Here's wishing all of us a more Peaceful and Prosperous New Year!
